Serves: 8

Takes: 30 minutes

Ingredients

  • 1 pack Paul Hollywood Ready To Bake Crusty Rolls

  • 6 rashers good quality streaky bacon (smoked or un-smoked)

  • 100g cheddar cheese, grated (or use another cheese if you prefer)

  • 2 spring onions, thinly sliced

  • 4 tbsp reduced fat cream cheese

  • Black pepper

  • 1 tbsp butter, melted

  • Few chives, chopped

  • Salsa and sour cream to serve

Method

  1. Preheat the oven to 200°C fan. Place the Crusty Rolls onto a baking tray and bake in the oven for 4 minutes then take out and allow to cool for a few minutes

  2. Meanwhile, chop the bacon into small pieces and fry in a pan for a few minutes until just turning brown and crispy, then tip into a bowl.

  3. When the Crusty Rolls are cool enough to handle, slice them in half and use a serrated knife to carefully cut around the edges about 6-8 mm in from the edge of the crust. Scoop out the bread from the middle and crumble into the bowl with the bacon

  4. Add the grated cheese, spring onion and cream cheese to the bowl, season well with black pepper (but no salt) and mix well

  5. Brush the insides of the rolls and around the edges with the melted butter and place with scooped out sides facing up on a baking tray

  6. Divide the mixture between the Crusty Rolls then pop in the oven for 8-10 minutes until golden. Sprinkle with chives before serving with pots of salsa and sour cream for dipping into
